Holidays are getting closer, corporate events are already starting in many companies, and the internal clock has launched a countdown. We’ll be compassionate yet?
Today is the birthday of the famous Indian theater and film actor Raj Kapoor. Surely grateful spectators will also present him some prize this year: proclaimed by the Indian Charlie Chaplin, he collected all the prizes he could during his lifetime, but he is still awarded posthumously.
Let’s remember today the legendary actors of the twentieth century, who are remembered and honored to this day.
Raj Kapoor (India)
It is logical to start with a birthday. Kapoor did not become a star because there was no one else. He really knew how to subtly convey emotions without sometimes uttering a word: the movement of an eyebrow, an expressive look, a “talking” smile. And best of all, the Kapoor actor was able to reveal the Kapoor director – the film “Tramp” in the year of its release was a hit in world cinema. Continue reading
Have you ever been to the BDT? Not? Unfortunately, I, too, did not have the opportunity to attend live performances of the Bolshoi Drama Theater. Tovstonogov. No matter how you say “halva” – it will not become sweeter in your mouth, but you should say “Hanuma!” This performance has rightfully become the hallmark of the theater, which today marks its 93rd anniversary.
It is amazing what big actors this theater gathered at its stage at different times: Georgy Tovstonogov, Kirill Lavrov, Efim Kopelyan, Oleg Borisov, Pavel Luspekaev, Oleg Basilashvili, Tatyana Doronina, Svetlana Kryuchkova, Nina Usatova, Olga Volkova …
Fortunately, we can recall them by their roles in films and television plays. Continue reading
Today we celebrate a double birthday: on this day, with a difference of 13 minutes, actors James and Oliver Phelps were born. How is it – you don’t know who they are? You know, you know! It’s just that we are better known to them under the names of Fred and George Weasley, the hooligan twins from the Harry Potter series of films (by the way, they also played Gideon and Fabian Pruett, members of the first Order of the Phoenix). Let’s see what other movie twins we can remember.
Ksenia and Polina Kutepovs
The sisters do not have a small joint filmography, and they often go on the stage together, playing at the same time not at all relatives. How at the same time they are distinguished by the audience – I do not know! Continue reading
The selection of actors for the film is an important preparatory stage of film production. Sometimes it drags on for a long time. Thousands of actors go through auditions and auditions until the director approves the one who fits perfectly into the picture.
Very often, directors and scriptwriters create a role for a specific actor and want to see only him on the set. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes not – then the actor comes to replace another.
For example, the main female role in the romantic comedy Proposal (2009) was originally proposed by Julia Roberts, but with the condition to reduce their appetites for a fee. The actress refused, and the role went to Sandra Bullock. I do not think that the film was greatly lost from such castling, but I would be very curious to look at Proposal (2009) with Julia. Yesterday, fans of French cinema celebrated the birthday of a remarkable actor who played many memorable roles – Andre Robert Rembour, better known under the pseudonym Bourville. Therefore, when not today remember some sparkling French comedies – they can’t shoot anywhere else in the world.
The Great Walk (1966)
The brilliant duet of Bourville with another brightest movie star in France – the magnificent and unforgettable Louis de Funes. By popularity, “Big Walk” was able to get around only the “Titanic” by James Cameron in 1997 and the comedy “Bobro Squander” in 2008 (about it below). And it is no coincidence that the picture is one of the most beloved tapes of the French: subtle humor, funny adventures, charm and charisma of the leading actors. “A great walk” and nowadays to watch is a pleasure.
Tall Blonde in a Black Boot (1972)
A classic of not only French, but also world cinema! Continue reading
