Superheroes or ordinary people? The most “male” actors
Today is the birthday of Iron Arnie – a famous actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Five years ago, the Austrian village where he was born declared July 30 the official day of Arnold. The authorities even wanted to erect a monument to the Terminator there. In popularity, Arnie is perhaps superior to many “brutal” actors. But let’s see who could still compete with him.
If Arnie is a symbol of a bodybuilder, then Stallone was actively engaged in popularizing boxing (did you know that in the Rocky project he is not only the leading actor, but also the author of the script?), For which he was even introduced to the International Boxing Hall of Fame last year.
By the way, who is not afraid to look weaker than other tough guys is Sylvester. It was he who released the film The Expendables in 2010, which invited Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Lee, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts to participate. Steven Seagal did not get into the project, because he did not agree on something with the producers (for a fee, apparently!), And Nicolas Cage himself asked for it, but was refused by Stallone. Jean-Claude Van Damme, although he refused to participate, but then he nevertheless starred in the second part, which will be released in August this year.
Old Bruce won a reputation as a superhero with unmatched muscle – the Die Hard series was very successful in which Willis’s hero is forced to save the world film after film simply because he is a good guy in this situation. “This is a difficult job, but someone has to do it,” – in that spirit, he commented on his “hobby” in the fourth part.
Charisma to the heroes of Willis is given by those facts from his personal life that we know. For example, strong friendship with his ex-wife – actress Demi Moore – and friendly relations with her young husband. Photos depicting their company on vacation with the children of Demi and Bruce were printed by almost all the magazines in the world. Not every man demonstrates such miracles of adequacy, wisdom and decency in a relationship.
A true Texas ranger (though originally from Oklahoma). His invincibility and brilliant mastery of martial arts even spawned a huge Internet meme – the so-called “Facts about Norris”, ridiculing common movie stamps. For instance:
U-turn kick by Chuck Norris is the preferred death penalty in 16 states.
Chuck Norris is so cool that he is older than his older brother.
Weapons of mass destruction do not exist. There is only Chuck Norris.
Chuck Norris uses a nightlight not because he is afraid of the dark, but because the darkness is afraid of Chuck Norris.
At first, when Chuck was told about these “Facts”, he was a little offended and advised the inventors to learn better about the facts of his real life from published autobiographical books. But then, apparently, he tried and understood the humor – now in some interviews he even quotes his favorites, like, “Chuck Norris can divide by zero.”
An outstanding martial artist, the son of a German and a Chinese, became a legend during his lifetime. First, he achieved success in training and in battles (although he never took part in official competitions, so he could not boast of prizes and medals), and then in a movie where an athlete of this level instantly became a sensation.
He worked tirelessly on the body and improved his fighting skills, paying attention to proper nutrition, physical activity, and psycho-spiritual state. As a result, he can be cited as an example of a superhero in the body of an ordinary person: he could be pulled up, grasping the bar only with the thumb and forefinger, and he could also be wrung out on two fingers of one hand. He was not the tallest – 171 centimeters – apparently this allowed him to move so fast that sometimes the traditional technology of shooting 24 frames per second was simply not enough to capture his shots. He could also plant a grain of rice and catch him with chopsticks.
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Perhaps the most spectacular and impressive man of our today’s superheroes. Not for nothing that Monica and Rachel in the series “Friends” almost quarreled over him. Jean-Claude brilliantly performed in karate and kickboxing, losing only two times out of 22 fights to the enemy, and then moved to the cinema, where he quickly became the new idol in the genre of action movies. However, the role of only an actor did not suit him, and for a number of films he also acted as a director, screenwriter, producer and even editor.
By the way, the 51-year-old actor is still worth considering as an athlete – a new fight is due to take place in December 2012 in New York.
We noticed our most famous athlete on the English television project “Gladiators’ Fights” – a show in which participants had to complete a task competing with real strongmen – gladiators. There were four of them from Russia: two girls – Lynx and Astra, and two guys – Spartak and Dynamite. It was the adroit and confident Dynamite that very quickly became the favorite of the audience.
