Laugh a la francaise: five French comedies
Yesterday, fans of French cinema celebrated the birthday of a remarkable actor who played many memorable roles – Andre Robert Rembour, better known under the pseudonym Bourville. Therefore, when not today remember some sparkling French comedies – they can’t shoot anywhere else in the world.
The Great Walk (1966)
The brilliant duet of Bourville with another brightest movie star in France – the magnificent and unforgettable Louis de Funes. By popularity, “Big Walk” was able to get around only the “Titanic” by James Cameron in 1997 and the comedy “Bobro Squander” in 2008 (about it below). And it is no coincidence that the picture is one of the most beloved tapes of the French: subtle humor, funny adventures, charm and charisma of the leading actors. “A great walk” and nowadays to watch is a pleasure.
Tall Blonde in a Black Boot (1972)
A classic of not only French, but also world cinema! At the very center of the intrigues of the highest ranks of French intelligence is a humble violinist. And do not hesitate, he will not only successfully escape all the dangers and traps, but also get the most beautiful girl – this is France!
Funny and Tanned (2006)
A loser manager, a plastic surgeon without work and a wife, a nervous wig seller, a married couple who had just discovered that their son was gay, a girl who longs for revenge on someone who dared to stand in her way – in general, a great company for provocatively spending time on vacation, isn’t it?
This, incidentally, is the third part of history, the first series of which appeared in 1978 and became very popular. You can watch from the beginning and sequentially (“Tanned”, 1978, “Tanned skiing”, 1979), but you can immediately from this part – it will not be less funny from this.

Beaver Savor (2008)
A comedy that managed the almost impossible – it broke the record for the number of viewers that belonged to Big Walk for more than 40 years. And they also say that these days they don’t make cool movies! The film tells the story of the head of the post office, who struggled to earn a raise and transfer to work on the Cote d’Azur, but it turned out the other way around – he was caught on a forgery and sent to work in the north of the country. But, as it turned out, you can live there too!
Russian critics noted with pleasure that the team that translated the film into Russian was able to simultaneously adapt the humor and not distort the meaning. Which, as you know, was not easy at all!
An Italian remake of the film has already been shot and a Hollywood movie is being prepared, with Will Smith supposedly playing the lead role.
1 + 1 (2011)
It is difficult to say what the translators had in mind, interpreting the original name “The Untouchables” as “1 + 1”, but this is the only claim that can be made to the picture. A funny and sad, incredibly moving story about the acquaintance and friendship of a paralyzed aristocrat and an uncouth guy. The story, by the way, is real. And the man who served as the prototype of the hero of the rich Philip personally insisted that this should be just a comedy, in no case a drama.
That is why when watching a movie you can’t hold back your tears, but the aftertaste from it is the kindest and brightest.
